Osei Essed is a New York-based composer, songwriter and performer. He spends most of his days (and many nights) engaged in the art of helping stories sound the way they look and feel. That’s film composition.

Recent projects include March Forth (Tribeca 2026), When a Witness Recants (Sundance 2026), Capsized (Edinburg FF 2025), Being Eddie (Netflix 2025). When not writing for the screen, Essed writes and performs with Wolfsuit, a project created to make music for musics sake.

Essed holds a Master of Music degree from SUNY Purchase and in addition to his work as a composer, has collaborated with theater and dance companies, served as an artist in residence and guest lecturer at NYU, Columbia University and other institutions.

His composition work includes Oscar and Emmy winning films as well as lots of beautiful smaller, critically acclaimed series and films.
